buds is our way of marking the shift.
longer days, warmer air, and everything starting to come back to life—friends, routines, and the small things that make a season feel like itself. this blend is built to feel like that: light, bright, and easy to keep coming back to.
this year, we kept things focused on fruit + flowers.
a natural red bourbon from rwanda brings layered sweetness and juicy fruit, while a washed pink bourbon from colombia adds soft florals and structure. together, they create a cup that’s light, sweet, and refreshing—with just enough complexity to keep it interesting.
this is easily the lightest seasonal blend we’ve put together, and it’s one we’ve been reaching for daily.
about the coffees
rwanda — mwito washing station, west nyamasheke
this natural red bourbon comes from the mwito washing station, located along lake kivu in western rwanda. cherries are dried on raised beds for 11–14 days, producing a fruit-forward profile with notes like strawberry, grape candy, and caramel sweetness.
mwito is part of rwanda trading company, an organization focused on long-term farmer support through training programs and infrastructure investment. since acquiring the station in 2017, they’ve worked closely with smallholder producers to improve both quality and economic stability.
colombia — la piragua, huila (vargas family)
this washed pink bourbon is produced by the vargas family at la piragua, a farm and community hub in huila. sitting at around 1,800 meters, the farm processes not only its own coffee but also cherries from neighboring producers—many of whom don’t have access to their own wet mills.
the result is a clean, floral coffee with soft fruit and brown sugar sweetness, shaped by careful processing and a strong emphasis on community collaboration and sustainability.

Things we should say:
1. Please note that we don’t attach the flowers to out of town orders due to the high chance of damage during shipping :)
2. We're only going to have this coffee for a few weeks...so if you'd like to subscribe to it, simply sign up for the "Roaster's Choice Subscription" and you'll receive it a few times throughout this spring.
