This coffee has been in our hands for a few months, and it's be
This is the coffee we keep reaching for.
We’ve put this Costa Rica Brunca through just about every test we could think of—roasted it ultra-light, pushed it darker, pulled it as espresso, brewed it hot, iced it, flash-chilled it, and even used it as a blend component. Every time we asked, “What coffee should we use for this?” the answer kept coming back the same.
Obviously this one.
What makes it special is its balance. It’s interesting without being weird. Sweet without being heavy. Structured enough to make coffee nerds happy, but smooth and familiar enough that literally anyone could drink it and go, “Yeah… that’s really good.”
The cup opens with gentle cherry sweetness and toasted almond, settles into milk chocolate, and finishes with this silky, maple-syrup-like mouthfeel that just hangs around—in the best way. It’s the kind of coffee that makes you accidentally drink three cups before realizing you were supposed to stop at one.
Highly sippable. Wildly versatile. Crowd-pleasing in a way that still feels thoughtful and intentional.
In short: a dependable favorite that never gets boring.
Region/ Farm Info:
This coffee comes from COOPEAGRI, a farmer-owned cooperative in Costa Rica’s Brunca Region, near the Chirripó area. The cooperative represents numerous smallholder producers farming at elevations between 1,200–2,000 meters. Coffees are fully washed and processed at COOPEAGRI’s ecological wet mill before drying at Beneficio El Hoyón.
Beyond coffee quality, COOPEAGRI invests deeply in its community—supporting housing initiatives, healthcare access, pensions for senior members, and environmentally responsible milling practices that reuse the entire coffee fruit through a circular economy model.
