There’s a reason fall feels different here in the Valley. The mountains burn bright with color, the patches start pumpkin-ing, and the smell of apple cider donuts fills the air. It’s the season you pull your flannel from the back of the closet, where it’s been waiting all year, soft and familiar.
The Long Sleeves Blend is our version of that feeling. We started sampling coffees for this blend back in June...and worked real hard to find a mix that could somehow evoke this sort of emotion in both taste and aroma. Furthermore, it was really important to us that this coffee really had a syrupy, spiced cider, and hot cocoa type mouthfeel in the cup.
Honestly, we really think we did it.
A washed-process Guatemala paired with a washed Costa Rica brings apple sweetness and milk chocolate warmth. But we also wanted brown sugar, a hint of peach, and spice in the cup . . .
That’s where the real showstopper comes in:
A Black Honey–processed Guatemala from Finca Medina in Antigua. Grown in a valley nestled between three volcanoes, this coffee is slow-dried for nearly a month on raised beds, a meticulous process that produces brown sugar depth, and vibrant notes of peaches and fall spices to lift the whole blend. on top of that, it really rounds out the cup so that it feels full of body, thick, and leaves behind that lovely syrupy texture we were going for.
Together, these three coffees create a cup that feels soft and comforting, warm and crisp, uplifting and sweet—in that maple syrup on pancakes, crisp air on your cheeks, leaves-crunching-underfoot kind of way.
Finally, we partnered with Walker Town Farm in Black Mountain to provide dried stems to attach to each bag. Just a little piece of Western NC autumn, tucked right on top.
